I miss Neverland

There was a phase where my first born would have done nothing but watch Peter Pan on a loop if I would've let him.  Now I miss it, I really love that movie and that book.  I saw the sketch this week at Sketchy Thursdays and immediately thought of these photos that I still had never gotten around to. 


I stayed pretty true to this sketch.  My changes were to not stagger the photos and flipped the design on it's side.  I made this page with my April Studio Calico kit and I really love it.  I find my favorite layouts usually come from my favorite pictures.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Artistic License

Use it or loose it.  So the sketch this week at Sketchy Thursdays is a 2 pager, and I do love a 2 pager...most of the time but today I just wasnt feeling it.  I decided to really change it up and turn it into an 8.5x11, which is my new muse.  I really wanted the bigger pic to be the focus so I put it in the middle.  I kept the title placement, layers and twine.  I really love the american crafts rain drops paper, so much prettier in person than online.

The Big Picture

I love to do layouts with oversized photos, but it is hard.  You have to think in a completely different way, but it is totally worth it (or at least I hope so anyway).  I loved this photo of my oldest son from a few years ago too much to scale it down any smaller.  I have tried to scrap it a couple of times with no success.  When I saw the May guest design team challenge sketch at Sketchy Thursdays I knew it was finally time.  The sketch had alot of white space around the photo so I knew it would be easy to incorporate a larger photo.  My favorite thing about the Sketchy Thursday sketches is that they give just enough design but there is still plenty of opportunity to make the sketch your own. 


I made this page with my April Studio Calico kit in about 20 minutes, the pages that just fall together like that are always my faves.  Every page I have made with this months kit has been this way :)! thanks for looking and if youre playing along let me know so I show you some love.

playing favorites

This is my new favorite layout.  Ive had in my head for awhile, but I was waiting on my studio calico April kit.  The clould and rainbow are zinged and the eggs are made of the new Basic Grey petals.  Im not sure why I like it so much, but it just makes me happy to look at.
