I have been loving Echo Park. I had to forgo my usual kit this month so I picked up some paper packs at my lss and they are so fun (For the Record is my fave)! I went to crop night at my lss Friday night to start the NSD celebration early and I discovered a chevron punch and I got so excited I made a puddle! OK I just spilled my sprite zero in my lap, but I was very excited and I went a little chevron crazy.
This is the first layout I made and it's a combination of "For the Record" and "Little Boy" papers, and some bits from my stash. I punched out all the chevrons and then glued them down (this took awhile, but it was worth it), then I added some random stitching. I added the photos and stickers, I was just laying some buttons on my page to see if they matched and I liked it so much so much I just glued them down ;). I added my title and made some journaling lines with my ruler and added my story. When I was done I was like "I sure wish I would've added some splatters before I put the photo on", but I decided to throw caution to the wind and I just covered the pic with a bunch of paper towels and splattered away. I added the twine last and I made a little notch in the edge of the paper on one side and then wound it around a button on the other to keep it from wandering.
I continued with my chevron frenzy, but this time in card form
This is pretty simple and straight forward which is how I like my cards. I just punched and adhered my chevrons and added my stickers. This is a great general use card to add to my stash.
Ok finally I took a brief respite from my chevron induced mania to make a page based on
add on sketch #3 from Sketch Support. I decided to make this sketch into an 8.5x11 layout, I have been making this size alot latey, it's my fave for small photos, or single photos. All the circles and the base of the cupcake are all hand cut.
I put the border stickers down first, then I used some hexagons as a mask and misted a honeycomb background to go with some of the papers. I glued down the cupcake base and adhered my photos. I tucked the other circles in where it was pleasing to the eye. Then I added title and all my little stickers. I used a cute red button for the cherry and used my sharpie pen for all the doodling.
Thanks for looking! Enjoy your national scrapbooking day weekend
