And for a grand prize, we are giving a $50 gift cert toward the CRAFT retreat!  All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on the blogs in the hop.  This is my very first kit here and I was impressed.  I have been waiting for what seems like forever to share my layouts so I picked my favorite for the hop

July's theme is "Indepenence" and this page is about my 4yo who thinks he is 16! I don't even want to think about what he will be like when he actually is 16.  This layout is cricut heavy lol.  I cut my hearts on the cricut, then cut the scalloped circles on the cricut also.  I layered the circles on the hearts and then flipped them over and trimmed the edges with an exacto. I filed the edges so they would have a seamless look.  The ribbon is just a bit I  trimmed off of some Prima rose ribbon, but dont worry you will see the actual roses later.

Debbie Gibson flashback

You would think that with 2 boys the "blue" twist for Twisted Sketches card sketch #66 would've been a breeze, but you would be wrong.  Maybe I was just overthinking it and I should've just made a blue card but that would've been to darn easy ;).  Then the immortal wisdom imparted to me at age 12 by a derby hatted, peg rolled jeans Debbie Gibson came rushing back and the "Out of the Blue" card was born.

How much wood

would Jamie put on a card if Jamie could put wood on a card?  Here is your answer

This card was made using card sketch #64 from Twisted Sketches.  The twist for the sketch is wood and I knew just what I wanted to use.  The wood veneer buttons from Studio Calico were one of favorite products that came from CHA winter.  I used the Studio Calico "Classic Calico" mist on them and they take mist great! The crochet flower is from a the very talented Debbie Back.  The patterend paper is from the Salt Air line by Cosmo Cricket and that whole line is amazing.  The rub on is an oldie from Crate Paper and the twine is from May Arts.  I used the 1/4 in. setting on my corner chomper and just a little doodling, I am a big fan of doodling.  This card is generic enough to use for many occasions, but this one will be a graduation card.Thanks for looking have a great day.

California dreaming

I have always wanted to live in California, even though I have never been lol.  I would never plan a vacation there because I felt like I would never be able to make myself come back home.  We are planning on moving to a more urban location when my husband is done with college next May, but if I bring up California he says it's too far from here.  At least we will be moving closer to the beach.  That is the first of my moving stipulations, the second is that it must be at least as warm as where we live now. When I saw this is certainly did nothing to ebb my desiree to head west.

Who does not want to wear the ribbon?

This is my first project as a DT so I really hope you like it :).  This is my take on Twisted Sketches #62 card sketch.I really wanted to pretty much follow the sketch and then go crazy with the twist, so I used ribbon to create the entire background.  The blue and the tulle are from Webster's Pages and the gold is from craft supply.  I spot for my sentiment is from the "Little Boy" line from Echo Park Paper, and it's one of my favorite paper lines ever because it's great for little boys but as you can see on this card it is also very versatile.  The sentiment itself is a rubon from Imaginisce, and the crochet flower is Kaiser craft.  The brad is from Making Memories, and these are also a great size to cover with paper or fabric.  Everything is glued down with my ATG, including the brad because I didnt want it to show through the other side.
