FREE to a good home

The tags that is not the boy! I was cruising pinterest as I so often do when I saw these tags you can download and print yourself for FREE! They have some other designs and different colors too, but my printer is not so good with color.
Today I also have my last layout to share from the September "Balance" kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out.

I just freehanded the beautiful then cut it out with an exacto knife and used some scraps to line it from behind.  I was looking up synonyms for balance and I came across symmetry witch lead to asymmetrical which lead to that smile.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sketch #78

Hello all! Today I have my card for the Twisted Sketches card sketch #78.
This may be my favorite card Ive ever made! The patterned paper is October Afternoon, the letters are Pink Paislee, the twine is Divine Twine and the cardstock is Coredinations.  I cut those cute little cameras out on the cricut.  The twist was "verse", but I had already given the card away when I realised I hadn't taken a picture of the verse on the inside.  If your still curious I used part of a verse from Provers "A glad heart makes a cheerful face".  Thanks for looking and don't forget to play along.

Challenging myself

So when I read about the first challenge at Scrapbooking From the Inside Out it just clicked, don't you love when that happens?  I knew immediately what pics I wanted to use and how I would incorporate the design twist.  Every month there are challenges and each challenge has a prompt and a twist that correlate with that months theme.  Here was the first challenge for September
Equilibrium: Are you someone who can maintain an 'even keel'? Is your personality type, or your learned behavior, steady, focused and smooth, or not? Do you handle yourself with grace and poise in difficult situations? Have you ever regretted your reaction to a difficult situation? What parts of your life need to be in place in order to maintain your equilibrium? What are the things, circumstances or changes that can throw you off? What's your first sign that you are feeling imbalanced before you can truly identify what's wrong? How do you regain your balance in the world of the 'new normal', either temporarily or indefinitely if something more permanent has changed?
When have you been thrown off balance? How did you (if you did) regain your equilibrium?

For the design twist, please make your photo elements uneven or even, whatever reflects your subject

Here is my page
I cut the pp to look like rollercoasters and the journaling is about how my youngest is an emotional rollercoaster.  There are several challenges every month and a great prize package for the winner. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The odd couple

My two kids are so different! My oldest is a carbon copy of my husband, and my youngest is my mini me.  I see them together and I wonder how in the world my husband and I ever got together lol.  The biggest thing they have in common is their DNA.  My oldest is light hearted and totally accepting of whatever I tell him so I used the day for him and added some Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drops ink to the edges of his photo.  My youngest is super serious and head strong so I chose night for him and used Close to My Heart ink for his photo in Denim.  If you don't have yourself a typewriter then that should be at the top of your to get list pronto!  I have a huge electric Smith & Corona from the 80's my Mom was more than happy to give me, it is pretty much the ugliest thing you've ever seen, but it gets the job done and unlike some of the prettier vintage typewriters it will hold a 12x12 sheet of paper.  Everything on this page is from the September "Balance" kit from Scrapbooking From The Inside Out.  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket and the stickers are Echo Park.  Have a great day and thanks for looking.

My HEART

So I saw Steph's blog your heart challenge and I really wanted to do it even though I am totally late for the train lol.  I am the kind of person who %99 of what I say is a joke, which I understand is not for everybody.  My life is SERIOUS, as life is and I think if I was serious on top of that I would not be a very happy person.  One of my husband's friends from OIF sent me a fb friend request which I accepted even though I was told not too because he is bat shit crazy and thinks he has a pact with devil lol.  Well I don't have alot of fb friends so I noticed someone had deleted me and sure enough it was him, which is hilarious that even for those who have been touched by the hands of satan Im a handful ;).  It made a great story to tell my IRL friends too, but it really did hurt my feelings.  Im not sure what fb friend expectations I did not meet, I think what really bothered me was not knowing kwim? Im used to being the kind of person who is not for everyone, but I usually know why lol.  Also on my heart big time is this
My oldest son who is autistic and almost 8 can finally write his name.  Taking on homeschooling has stressed me to no end, not the actual work just the pressure that whatever success or failure he has now is on me.  I want hime to learn so bad, if I thought setting my hair on fire would help I totally would.  Unfortunately it's just not that easy, and instead it requires endless work and positive reinforcement.  On the good days I can keep the focus on progress no matter how small and things go so well, on the bad days I see failure as a reflection on me and I lose focus on him.  There are hardly any bad days at all now and that is a true blessing.  I never thought he would ever be able to write his name and now he can and that makes me wonder what else I never thought would happen will?
The last thing on my heart today is that Im tired of reaching out and nothing being there to grab.  I really don't want to be specific but for now Im just over it lol.  Then I think is there somebody reaching out to me right now and I'm not there to grab?  Then I put on my senior prom dress and dance to billy idol and I feel better (and that is a true story).

SISTERS

You know the kind of sisters you read about in English Lit.?  Those are the kind of sisters that my Mom and Aunt are.  They are complimentary to each other and always there for one another.  There have been very few things in life that have made wish I wasn't an only child, but their relationship is one of them.

Everything on this layout is from the September "Balance" kit from Scrapbooking From The Inside Out.  The majority of this page was made using the Portrait line from Crate Paper, and this line is perfectly coordinated.  Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Twisted Sketches #76

Hello! Today I have my card I made with Twisted Sketches #76, and today's twist is paper so that would be really hard to screw up lol.
This cards is all My Little Shoebox, except the buttons which are from parts unknown.  I do love me some pink and brown, and the cardstock stickers from My Little Shoebox are so sturdy I love 'em.  With alot of cardstock stickers Ive used you have to be really careful, especially when taking them off the sheet, but these are really thick and stiff.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Page like an onion

It has A LOT  of layers!

I just love it when companies like Cosmo Cricket make these sheets of journaling cards.  I often end up using the majority of a sheet on one or two pages.  This photo is from 1999! Man that makes me feel old.  I have a hard time with older photos because I have a very bad memory and don't really know what to say about them.  My current solution for that problem is to just write how that photo makes me feel now, but if you have tips for scrapping older photos I would love to hear them.  If your interested in the texture of these journaling cards I will have a tutorial up on the Scrapbooking From the Inside Out exclusive content forum on the 15th, actually it will be there wheter you're interested or not lol.  Don't forget to view the exclusive content you have to be a member, which just means signing up not buying anything.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Hello September!

Sunny days and cool, crisp nights make me happy! The September "Balance" kit from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out is another thing that makes me happy! I can't believe I am half through my DT term :(, it has really flown by.  I am here today to share my favorite layout I made with this kit
This layout is actually lifted from a card I made

When I finished this card I thought, "that would make a cute page", and it turned out to be my favorite this month.  Thank you so much for looking and have a great day!
